DESIGN
FEATURES
- The
orifice sizes, shape & dia of balls, distribution of mass in the balls, freeboard
available when the balls are floating freely, are carefully matched to ensure trouble-free
operation under the stated maximum working pressures.
- Minimum
clearance between the balls and four guide ribs eliminates dangerous wobbling
of balls
- Ample
diameter of isolating valve spindle.
- Valve
seat for the large orifice is made of long lasting moulded dexine which reduces
the risk of adhesion between the ball and the seat.
- Specially
shaped small orifice to reduce wear and tear of ball.
STANDARD.
CONSTRUCTION
Cast
iron with bronze trim, st.steel (AISI - 410) spindle, soft rubber covered seasoned
timber ball for small (high pressure) orifice and hard vulcanite covered seasoned
timber ball for large (low pressure) orifice.
PRESSURE
RATING
Suitable
for a max. working pressure of 10 kg/sq.cm and potable water only.
KINETIC
FEATURES
Kinetic
air valves fitted with or without isolating sluice valves, these are for particularly
difficult air release problems. These valves overcome the diffculties sometimes
experienced in a conventional air valve with the vulcanite ball in the large orifice,
which tends to get caught in the emergent air stream and blows shut the large
orifice prematurely.
NOTE
1)
Anti-vacuum valve for very large mains, hydel power stations can be supplied (cowled
inlet 15" NB)
2)
Single air valve (Screwed BSPT 1/2",
3/4" & 1") can be given for mains up to 100 NB.
